Anne Christine Wright

It is with profound sadness that the family of Anne Christine Peckham Wright announces her passing on November 18, 2024 at the age of 67.

Anne was born on November 29, 1956, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the eldest daughter of John and Trudy Peckham. She grew up in Sioux Falls, forging lifelong friendships that became as close as family. After moving to Edina, Minnesota, where she completed high school, Anne pursued her passion for language and literature at St. Olaf College. There, she delighted in participating in the college's renowned choral program and earned a degree in Medieval Literature.

In 1980, Anne settled in Tallahassee, Florida, where she put down roots, raised her children, and built a loving and diverse community of friends. A lifelong and devoted reader, her keen intellect inspired her to read widely and deeply. She was actively involved in her church, her children’s schools, and the lives of her loved ones. Her commitment to service and her love of travel led her around the world, including church missions to Uganda, and journeys to England, France, Greece, Israel, Scotland and beyond with dear friends and family. Her relationships with her sons and her granddaughters brought her immeasurable joy and were a source of profound happiness.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Anne will be remembered for her creativity, wry sense of humor, generosity, and boundless capacity for love and friendship. Her memory will remain a cherished blessing to all who knew her.

Anne is survived by her sons, Austin Wright (Sarah Kathryn) and Chris Wright; granddaughters, Callie and Lilly Wright; sister, Mary Peckham (Chris Raphael); brother, Tom Peckham (Diane Cummings); nieces, Kate and Anna Raphael; aunt, Kate Gooderham (Ken); and a wide and loving community of friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted friends who visited and supported her during her illness.

A celebration of Anne's life will be held at 3:00pm on January 7 in the Carriage House at Goodwood Museum & Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to ECHO Outreach Ministries (https://echotlh.org/) 548 E. Bradford Rd.
