Ardis M. Lomheim

Ardis Mavis (Anderson) Lomheim, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, passed into the Lord’s arms on September 26, 2024, at Ponte Vedra Gardens in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL at the age of 92 years.  

Ardis was born on October 22, 1931 near Montrose, SD to C. Arthur Anderson and his wife Ethel (Kinsley) Anderson.  Ardis was the 7th of 8 children and her siblings included: Lawrence Malm, Vangie Sheppard, Stanley Anderson, Waldo Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Pearl Engle, and Donna Fuller.

She is survived by her husband Lou (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL).  Children: Denise (Mark) Boyer (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL), Douglas (Linda) Lomheim (Ok City, OK), Janelle Lomheim (deceased), and Jeannine (Tom) Floyd (Readyville, TN) They also have 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ardis loved people and lived a rich 92 years making many dear friends where ever she lived.    

Music was Ardis’ passion and brought her great joy.  She started playing piano at an early age by listening to favorite songs on the radio, and she continued to play "by ear", until a few months before she passed.  Though her memory was failing she remained able to play gospel music and hymns.  At a young age she became a follower of Jesus Christ, and found in her piano playing a life long way to serve Him, and bless others.  

Ardis now enjoys eternal life with her Heavenly Father and has finally been reunited with beloved family/friends. Her love, loyalty and passion for music will be remembered by her family. 

A memorial service will be held at 1130 on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Heritage Funeral Home, and this will be followed by a light lunch and burial at 2:00, at the Hills of Rest Cemetery.
