Audree K. Rea

Audree Katherine Smith Rea, age 107, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away February 1, 2026 at home. Her family will be present to greet friends for visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD. 

Audree Katherine Smith was born in Sioux Falls to Henry and Ida Smith on March 5, 1918. Audree was raised and received her education in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washinton High School.  

Audree was united in marriage with Everett Rea on July 3, 1935. During WWII, Audree and Everett, lived in Virginia and Washington state to work in the shipyards in helping the war effort.  Following the war, they returned to Sioux Falls to raise their children, Sharon and Terry. 

Audree enjoyed tending to her garden, canning vegetables, collecting thousands of recipes, watching her TV shows, sewing, working on ceramics and Macramé.  Above all she loved spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. 

She leaves behind her daughter, Sharon Klug; and a son, Terry (Roberta) Rea both of Sioux Falls. She also leaves behind, five grandchildren: Brian (Bonnie) Frisbee, Pam (David) Ward, Rob (Lisa) Rea, Michelle (Rod) Wilson, and Perry (Lisa) Rea, sixteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Audree is preceded in death is her husband, Everett in 2008, her parents, her sister, Irene Loftesness; and her brother, Robert “Bob” Smith.
