Carlton E. Wilkerson

Carlton Eugene Wilkerson, age 81, of Sioux Falls, passed away April 8, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

Carlton was born on January 29, 1944, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Duway and Effie (Merriwether) Wilkerson. He was the third of five children and grew up in a household rich with love, faith, and family values.

Carlton confessed Christ at an early age, and throughout his life, he remained steadfast in his faith. Known for his big heart and uplifting spirit, Carlton was a great encourager to all who knew him. He had a deep love for both God and people—never meeting a stranger, always ready with a kind word or a smile.

His passion for music and sports brought him joy and helped him connect with others in meaningful ways. Whether singing along to gospel music or cheering on his favorite team, Carlton embraced life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Deeper Wells Church Family on Saturday, April 26, 2025, with Pastor Tajuan Jackson officiating. The Wake will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the Service from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery.  Luncheon at Heritage Funeral Home, 2:30 PM.

Carlton's legacy of faith, kindness, and encouragement lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
