Deanna A Severson, age 87, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Bethany Home in Brandon, South Dakota. The family will be present to greet friends for a Memorial Visitation on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025 also at the funeral home.
Deanna Agnes Wilcox was born on July 18, 1938 in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Sioux Falls Washington High School and following high school married Berneil Severson. To this marriage six children were born. Deanna was the ultimate caregiver running her own in-home day care, becoming a family nanny, and eventually retiring from the day care center at Citibank after 10 years with the company. Deanna had a gift for sewing and was an amazing seamstress. She enjoyed baking traditional Christmas cookies every year, reading and crafting. Some of her fondness memories are from family camping trips across South Dakota, Friday lunches and trips with her brothers and sisters to Branson, MO, the yearly family reunions, and a very memorable hot air balloon ride for her 60th birthday. And she never forgot a Taco Tuesday! Deanna will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Deanna was preceded in death by her husband, Berneil Severson; daughter, Jill Styles; grandchildren, Colin Otto, Jesse Otto, and Sergiu Kirkeby; parents, John and Lenora (Hewling) Wilcox; brothers, Elmer Wilcox, Harold Wilcox, Derald Wilcox, Dwane Wilcox, and John Wilcox; sisters, Bernice Hoover, Lucy Winters, Patricia Wilcox, Marie Bingen, and Mary May.
