Gary Thomas Sherron was born in Sioux Falls, SD, to Thomas and Evelyn Sherron. He attended Washington High School. He loved working for Beal Distributing.  He was well known as the “Bud Man” and sometimes he would appear in the Bud Man costume.

Gary was an avid racing fan, watching and working in the pit crew even after he finished his racing career in street stock and sprint cars in Brandon, Madison, and Hartford. You could find him nearly every Sunday at Huset’s Speedway as early as 2pm, eating sunflower seeds and waiting to “get a good spot.” He regularly volunteered at Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home with his grandchildren, helping residents play bingo and bringing extra quarters to prolong the game.

Gary enjoyed racing, camping, bowling and playing cards with the family. He watched Gunsmoke and MASH daily and had a special love for Western movies with Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. If he wasn’t watching and old western you would find him playing the Wii. Bowling was a favorite. His main passion was his dog Hunter. He would sit hours on end outside with him.  Those who remember Gary best will recall his generosity and how much family means to him, stepping in as a father figure for many of his grandkids. He loved listening to 98.7, the oldies, and never said no to sweets like chocolate peanut clusters, Snickers, and bit-o-honey’s.

Grateful for sharing his life with his wife Becky Lape, daughter Michelle Moller (Christopher), Quan (Landon) Lexis, Emily, Kyley (Colton), Samantha, Paige, Nathan, Annalise, and Anthony, son Michael Sherron(Maureen) Rayna, son Matthew Sherron (Liz) Lina and Leah, He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Evelyn Sherron, a sister Thelma and a brother Dave.
