Gay Jensen, 88 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main Avenue. Gay L. Neavear, daughter of Phillip and Alberta (Jones) Neavear, was born on September 1,1936, in Wenatchee, WA. She grew up there and received her education. After graduating she attended at Illinois State University and received her degree in nursing. Gay was united in marriage with Charles Jensen on August 1, 1959, in Lincoln, IL. The couple moved to Sioux Falls and Gay attended the University of Sioux Falls receiving her degree in General Studies. She worked as a registered nurse for McKennan Hospital, Sioux Valley Hospital, and four different nursing homes in Sioux Falls totaling over 40 years of service. Gay was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and enjoyed semi-classical and easy listening music. She would spend many hours oil painting, crocheting, and doing yard work. Gay also had a genuine interest in Native American art and culture. Grateful for having shared her life are her sons Todd Jensen, Sioux Falls, SD, Clark Jensen, Tea, SD, Bryne Jensen, Wauconda, IL, Dana Jensen, Sioux Falls, SD; adoptive brother Dan Herron and wife Kathy, St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Gay was preceded in death by her biological parents; adoptive parents Margaret and Robert; ex-husband Chuck Jensen; and daughter-in-law Tina Jensen.
