Glenn Dale Adler was born on Mother's (Cora) Day and his dad's (Mickey) birthday, May 9, 1943, in Sioux Falls. Glenn attended Riverside School, (Laura B. Anderson), Whittier Junior High and graduated from Washington High School, 1961. Glenn went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Sioux Falls College. Out of college he was employed by the Food and Drug Administration in the Twin Cities. He then moved back "home" to work at the Sioux Falls Health Department for thirty years. A stroke at age 53 brought him to retirement.

Glenn married Judith (Judy) Vaughn at East Side Lutheran Church on August 7, 1965. Glenn and Judy grew up across the street from one another, so enjoyed many of the same friends and neighbors. Judy called him a gentleman and a gentle man. To this union were born Jill, Jeffrey and Ann.

Glenn was a loving father and grandfather who found joy in spending time with his family. He was frequently a supportive presence at games and recitals and created wonderful memories with road trips, fishing trips and watching movies. He was loved for his sweet nature and warm hugs.

Glenn always considered himself a life member of the Sioux Falls community and took pride in making it a great place to live through his dedication to his work at the Health Department. With the help of great co-workers, Glenn designed and implemented city programs Project Nice and Project Keep. Glenn began an interest in archery as an early teenager. He traveled the country to tournaments and won many titles. Later Glenn established Adler's Archery and Sporting Goods. Glenn was an innovator designing the Duel of the Superstars, American Indoor League and 13 South Dakota Pro-Am tournaments. Glenn jointly held an archery target patent. Glenn served two terms as president of the Professional Archers' Association. Glenn and Judy were awarded the Karl Palmatier Award of Merit by the Professional Archers Association for non-shooting accomplishments.

Glenn traveled 45 times to his favorite fishing spot, Lake Amisk, Denare Beach, Saskatchewan. Over the years, he enjoyed sharing that experience with over fifty friends and family. Glenn always had his boat and vehicle ready for the trip and had a back-up plan for almost everything.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Adler of Sioux Falls, SD; three children, Jill (fiancé, Scott Buchschacher) Adler of Minneapolis, MN, Jeff (Brooke) Adler and their children Jack, Ivy and Kash of Sioux Falls, SD, and Ann Adler and her children, William Kneip and James Kneip of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Colleen Adler, Sioux Falls, SD; other relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Emil “Mickey” Adler and Cora Adler; his brother Dennis Adler; his in laws, Howard, Inez, Ray and Dick (Kathy) Vaughn.
