June was born on April 22, 1930 in Marshall County, South Dakota, the daughter of David and Lydia (Keeble) Marks.
She married Philip Wika on June 6, 1947 in Sisseton, South Dakota. They farmed for five years and then moved to Sioux Falls. They had five children and when the children were in school, June began working at Ravens in the clothing production division. She also worked at the Hiland Potato Chip Company for a few years and her children fondly remember June bringing home the “over cooked” chips that didn’t pass inspection so they could snack on them at home. June later worked at the down town Senior Citizens Center and library.
June was very creative and loved making crafts, sewing, beadwork and making jewelry. She also enjoyed birdwatching and had several feeders. June was an avid Bingo player and often was a winner.
June was 95 years old when she passed away on January 4, 2026 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota.
She is survived by her children, Lou and LeRoy Kellenberger of Sioux Falls, Duane and Lori Wika of Sisseton, Russ and Jan Wika of Canton; son-in-law, Ron Wesdorp of Valley Springs; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Wika of Chicago, IL, Jane Wika of Grenville, SD and Frances Boik of FL; and many extended family members and friends.
