Kenneth John Haas

Kenneth Haas, 75, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Liturgical Wake Service, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

Kenneth John Haas was born on December 31, 1949, at the Mitchell Hospital to Vernon Paul and Cecilia Marie (Hoss) Haas, both of Carthage, SD. The family moved to Howard, SD, when Ken was young.

Ken attended St. Agatha School in Howard through his freshman year of high school and then transferred to Howard High School, graduating in 1968. He went on to college in Madison, SD, attending General Beadle State College, now Dakota State University, graduating in 1973, with a degree in Business.

Ken was united in marriage to Joyce Lund on January 31, 1981. They raised their two children in Sioux Falls, SD. Ken worked in the commercial printing business, Mailway Printers, retiring on June 30, 2015.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife of almost 45 years, Joyce; daughter, Sheremy Haas and her husband Ryan, all of Sioux Falls, SD, and daughter, Shawna McKinna and her husband Kiley of Dakota Dunes, SD; grandchildren, Samara and Sajen Haas, Stella and Walker McKinna; brother-in-law, Dwayne Strom of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Mary Haas of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Cecilia Haas; and brother, Donald Haas.
