Lester R. Tiesen 81, passed away February 16, 2011 at the VA Hospital. Lester was born December 11, 1929 in Yankton, SD to Bernhard and Esther Tiesen. He grew up in Freeman, SD where he attended School. His family moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1942. He married Evelyn Perkins in 1951. Les had served in the Navy and Army. He worked at John Morrell and Company for 48 years in the mail department. They moved to Tucson, AZ in 1997 after their retirement. Preceded in death mother and father; daughters, Pattie Tiesen, Joni Kemling. Survived by wife, Evelyn; daughter, Pam Riley; grandchildren, Nevin and Elova; son-in-law, Alan Kemling. Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church on 420 W. Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ. Officiating Daniel J. Valasakos and Pastor Craig T. Larson. Organist, Harriet Cowley. Internment at Hills of Rest Memorial Park, Sioux Falls, SD. Arrangements handled by HEATHER MORTUARY.
