Lois Mae Bennington was born on January 25, 1934, in Centerville, South Dakota, to Cecelia (Stevens) and Lawrence Bennington. She attended grade school in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1952.  On January 14, 1953, Lois married Olin Johnson. Tragically, Olin was killed in Korea just a few short months later.

Lois found love again and married Donald Johnson on October 20, 1954. The couple lived in Irene, South Dakota, before settling in Sioux Falls in 1960, where they built a life together.

She retired after 26 years of dedicated work at CCL Label. Lois was known for her deep love of animals, especially cats, and for her strong sense of humor. She cherished her family and enjoyed her Sundays playing Yahtzee, a tradition she rarely missed.

Lois will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Donna (Jeff) Johnson of Sun City, AZ, Olin (Lisa) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Cheryl (Craig) Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; her son-in-law, Chris LeMair of Madison, SD; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Johnson; her daughter, Kristi LeMair; and her sister, Darlene Blumer.
