Marie Wieber, Sioux Falls, SD, died September 16, 2024, at Bethany Home, Sioux Falls, SD. She was 90.
Marie E. Wieber was born July 3, 1934, in Clear Lake, SD, to Fred and Mabel (Fisher) Hoffman. She grew up attending country schools.
On October 16, 1955, she was united in marriage to Marvin H. Wieber in Clear Lake, SD, and together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. The couple lived in Montevideo, MN, where their daughter was born. They later moved to Watertown, SD. In 1962, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. In addition to being a loving homemaker and mother, Marie babysat for many families. From 1969 to 1975, Marv and Marie managed Village Trailer Court on 41st Street in Sioux Falls. In 1975, they purchased their house on Lowell Avenue, and that same year, became grandparents. In 1982, the family moved to Beulah, ND, and returned to Sioux Falls two years later.
Beyond her family, Marie's passions shone through in her creative pursuits. She was an accomplished crafter, excelling in crochet, knitting, and sewing. Her journaling talent preserved cherished memories for generations to come.
Marie’s strong maternal love led her to become fantastically talented at cooking and baking, and her culinary expertise made every gathering unforgettable.
Marie's legacy is one of unwavering love, loyalty, and dedication. Her family and friends will forever treasure the memories of holiday gatherings, family reunions, and countless moments filled with warmth and laughter.
As a dedicated mother and grandmother, Marie's nurturing spirit touched countless lives. Her dedicated and loyal spirit will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Marvin Wieber; daughter, Joyce Marie Cook; great-grandsons, Zane Story and Tate Story, all of Sioux Falls, SD; two great-great-grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristi Carlson; her parents; and an infant sister, Margaret.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, September 20, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Miller Funeral Home. The interment will take place at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
