Mary E. Lofton

Mary Elizabeth Lofton, age 96, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026. Her Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD. 

Born on December 26, 1929, Mary was the beloved daughter of Anthony Barr and Marie Deiss. She spent her career as a beautician, bringing warmth, conversation, and confidence to the many clients she served over the years. Mary was a woman of deep faith and a member of St. Lambert Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving son, Matthew Lofton (Pam); Grandson, Wade Lofton (Kathryn); Granddaughter, Ashley Larson; Great-Grandchildren, Alexis (Austin), Bryce, Carley, Destiney, Elijah, Forester, Graham, Hope, Isabel, Jeremiah, Hannah, & Isaac. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Lofton, with whom she is now peacefully reunited, her parents Anthony and Marie and sister Katherine Okus.

Her kindness, grace, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
