Mary L. Peltier

 

 

Mary L. Peltier, 89, of Sioux Falls, SD died on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls after her battle with cancer.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Interment will follow at Hills of Rest Mausoleum.

Mary L. Peltier, daughter of Harry and Odetta (Harris) Hall was born on January 13, 1937. She spent her early years at home on the farm. She was united in marriage to John L. Peltier on April 25, 1953 in Luverne, Minnesota. The next 65 years of marriage blessed them with four children and countless memories. Mary enjoyed being a wife and mother, and later in life selling Avon. She enjoyed being a leader in sales for Avon many times. She also enjoyed spending winters in Texas. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie Sletten of Sioux Falls, Deb (John) Runge of Hartford and Kim (Jeff) Lindner of Pukwana, South Dakota; son Jeff (Judy) Peltier of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Blaine Sletten, Melissa Sletten, Lee (Jessica) Runge of Minnesota, Jessica (Rick) Gysin of Colorado, Clayton (Chelsie) Peltier of Sioux Falls, Valerie (Tyler) Grieve of Sioux Falls and Katie (Dylan) VanMeveren of Sioux Falls, and 11 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Donna Peterson, Montana; brother, James (Judy) Hall, Sioux Falls; and brother-in-law, Roger VanEgdom, Iowa.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; a daughter in infancy; sister, Janet VanEgdom; son-in-law, Al Sletten; and brother-in-law, Roger Peterson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
