Nancy Ann Andera

Nancy Andera, age 76, of Garretson, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her 6 children and significant other. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 15, 2025, at the George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Hills of Rest Cemetery. 

She was born on June 14,1949 in Sioux Falls, SD to Etta & Robert Mullen. She attended Sioux Falls Public school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968.

She married Roger Andera on February 24, 1973, and together they had 6 children. For most of their life together, she stayed home and cared for her kids. After 20 years of marriage, they separated, and she held different positions until she retired as a teacher’s aide. During retirement she took pride in being part of a Foster Grandparent program. When meeting her significant other Dave, together they enjoyed traveling all over the country and were able to visit 35 states and 3 countries. 

Nancy is survived by her 6 children, Lance Andera (Barb), Sioux Falls, SD, Matt Andera (Shelia), Canton, SD, Kate Hansen (Loren), Garretson, SD, Becky Andera, Garretson SD, Joe Andera, Garretson, SD, and Jeff Andera (Catherine), Sioux Falls, SD. Her significant other, Dave Griggs, Garretson SD, her beloved cat Baby, 20 grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild, sisters Patty Mullen Blose and Deb Goodwin, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta Mullen, Robert Mullen, Grandparents Rose & Otto Neiber, sister Sandy Pyper, great grandson Kaden Irvine, and past life partner Bill Bennett. 

She always enjoyed feeding her birds, a morning cup of coffee and visiting with family, friends & neighbors. She will be remembered for her kindness, caring ways, and the love for her children and grandchildren.
