Odd Muldbakken

Odd Muldbakken, age 92, of Sioux Falls, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 13, 2025, in his home, with family by his side. His Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Interment will be in the Hills of Rest Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2025, with his family present, at the George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. 

Born in Reinli, Valdres, Norway to Amanda and Gunvald Muldbakken. Odd traveled to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1954, where he met and married Sunhild, whom he cherished and shared a 66 year marriage and three children.

Odd and Sunhild have been active members of Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls for 66 years and Odd has been a lifetime member of Son’s of Norway. 

Odd was a talented craftsman and woodworker who made many various items in his shop where he loved to tinker. He was a quiet gentle soul with a soft heart for all creatures big and small. Odd’s kind nature and humor could be counted on to leave you smiling. To know him was to love him. 

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sunhild; children, Rolf (Lisa), Deborah (Paul), and Greg (Courtney); grandchildren, Raymond, Rachel (Bryan), Blake, Kyle, Kendra (Jordan), and Owen; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bennett, and Nelle; and sister; Gunborg. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Rolf, Gudbrand, and Kjell.
