Peggy Louise Graham, daughter of Oscar and Martha (Coates) Graham, was born May 10, 1939 in Madison, SD. She grew up and received her education in Madison. Peggy moved to Texas in 1953 and returned to Madison in 1963 until moving to Sioux Falls in 1970.
She married Vernon Thompson on May 4, 1971 in Sioux Falls. Vernon preceded her in death on March 2, 2002.
Peggy worked with Vernon in their painting business prior to working at Haffner’s Service Station located on the corner of Cliff Avenue and Rice Street from 1993-2004.
Peggy was a loving and devoted mom and a cozy grandma whose warmth could be felt the moment you were near her. Her home was a place of comfort, safety, and quiet joy—a reflection of the care she gave so freely to her family.
She loved completely and without condition, and that love continues to live on in all who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, family, or friend. Though she will be profoundly missed, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by God’s eternal love. Peggy’s legacy of warmth, strength, and unconditional love will continue for generations.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Sharon Wise, Madison, SD, Galen (Lauri) McGee, Sioux Falls, SD, Sheryl Huber, Sioux Falls, SD, Tracy McGee, Wyoming, Sandy (Rick) Anfinson, Sherman, SD, Tammy Miller, Sioux Falls, SD, Belle Starr Budd, Sioux Falls, SD and Kelley (Mike) Cowles, Sioux Falls, SD; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar (Lois) Graham, Brandon, SD and Donny (Sandy) Graham, Madison, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; daughter, Patty Miller, brothers, Floyd, Daniel, and Milford; sister, Pat Olson; and son-in-law, Rocky Miller.
