Phane Silaphanhdeth

Phane Silaphanhdeth, 80, of Brandon, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Garretson, South Dakota. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls.

Phane was born June 5, 1945, to Sida & Phady (Keokenga) Silaphandeth in Laos. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family; whom he loved more than anything. His favorite thing to do was fishing, whether it was just him, him and his wife, or in a group. He would frequently visit Lake Pahoja, Iowa and East Vermillion Lake, Vermillion, South Dakota, but he was an equal opportunity fisherman; he would never discriminate – If there was water, there was fish.

Surviving Phane are his children, Sai Sila-Pruitt, Patty (Lonnie) Johnson, Pamela (Eric) Souza, and Bounmy Thomas; his grandchildren, Katrina Silaphanhdeth, Vilay Kristina Lunt, Aldrich Khemphet Phoumy, Joshua Jacon Orrin Johnson, Jeremy Jared Johnson, Jeniah Alycia Johnson, Jesse Jordan Johnson, Annabelle Lund, Avery Lund, Elias Duron, Liam Duron, Dean Souza, Camden Thomas, and Reign Martin; along with 11 great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Bounthanh Silaphandeth.

Phane was preceded in death by his loving wife, Heuang Silaphanhdeth; and his son, Sengaroune Silaphanhdeth.
