Ralph W. Redenius, 88, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. The family will be present to greet relatives and friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2025 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ralph’s memory to a charity of your choice.
Ralph William Redenius was born on May 16, 1936, in Ipswich, South Dakota, and raised on a farm in Humboldt, South Dakota, where he developed a strong work ethic and a love of family.
Ralph’s career was marked by his dedication and mechanical ability. He worked at Terrace Park Dairy and Western Mall before becoming the owner of the Malon Bar. Later, he served as a Maintenance Technician at US Bank for 23 years. After retiring from US Bank, he managed Clean Finish Car Wash for 26 years, retiring in January 2024.
Ralph married Sharon (Geppert) Gordon in 1989, and together they shared a love of life, family, and adventure. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, fishing, and taking road trips on his motorcycle with Sharon by his side.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his children, Susan (Joe) Sudtelgte of Elkton, SD, Dennis Redenius of Sioux Falls, SD, Donnis (Becky) Redenius of Pipestone, MN, Scott (Melody) Redenius of Disputanta, VA, Tim Redenius of Golconda, NV, Cheri (Dalton) Frederickson of Sheridan, WY, and Bill (Mary) Redenius of Choctaw, OK; his stepchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Gordon of Rapid City, SD, and Dave Gordon of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hobart Redenius; grandchildren, Amy, Kenny Ray, and Dustin John; his parents, Joe and Nellie (Richards) Redenius; his siblings, Joe, John, George, Roger, Rosie Getting, and Pearl Lewin.
Ralph will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, his passion for rebuilding and restoring all mechanical things. We will never forget the love and wisdom he shared with his family and friends.
