Rebecca L. Acers

Rebecca “Becky” L. Acers, age 68 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Her Memorial Service will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 13, 2025 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.  Interment at Hills of Rest Cemetery.  

Rebecca “Becky” Linona Leimbach was born on October 31, 1956, the daughter of Richard and Lillain (Sedlacek) Leimbach in Omaha, Nebraska.

On June 10, 1978, Becky married Terrance “Terry” Acers at Mosher Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Omaha, Nebraska. There they were blessed with two daughters, Tamara “Tammy” and Kelsey. The family later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Becky provided daycare services in their home for many years, but her main focus was being the primary caregiver to their daughter, Tammy.  

One of Becky’s greatest pleasures in life was bowling.  Becky taught Terry to bowl, and they each enjoyed bowling with their leagues. She greatly enjoyed quilting, which she inherited the love of quilting from her mom, “Bubbie.” She was a member of the quilting group at First Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed making flower arrangements for others for their special moments, often using silk flowers purchased from her favorite retail establishment, Goodwill.  Becky loved to thrift, cook, bake and spend time with her family.  

Becky and Terry were reunited on their 47th Wedding Anniversary when Becky passed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.  

Becky is survived by her daughters, Tammy Acers of Sioux Falls, SD and Kelsey Acers of Alexandria, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Richard “Popo” and Lillian “Bubbie” (Sedlacek) Leimbach; her husband, Terry Acers on May 3, 2022; and several siblings.
