Ruth Ann's story began on August 21, 1946 when she was welcomed into the world as the Sixth child of Henry and Anine (Mikkelsen) Bak. She grew up in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1964. After high school she moved to Sioux Falls to attend Nettleton College. Her first job after College was at LCM Pathologists, where she started on May 1, 1965. She truly cherished her career and the relationships that she established. She was so proud to have worked 53 years, six months and one day with the same colleagues. She retired in 2018.
On April 23, 1967, Ruth Married Fred Ewoldt and from that marriage, Andrea was born.
Ruth was a member of First Lutheran Church and she was a remarkable woman with a strong work ethic who touched the lives of everyone she met. Although we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that her love will live on in the hearts of her family.
Ruth will forever be missed by her daughter Andrea and her Son-in-law, Rick Adams of Mesa, Arizona, her cherished Grandson, Chase Adams and his Wife Emily of Mesa, Arizona, and her great-granddaughter, who is due in September of this year. Ruth's heart also extends to her many nieces and nephews, Rick and Andrea's Circle of Friends, Her Childhood Friends; Elaine Tatge, Linda Bruns and Ruth Pliska, and two Sister-in-Laws, Elsie Bak and Elaine Bak.
Let us carry forward the light that Ruth shared with the world, remembering her with fondness and gratitude. Her memory will be a blessing, with a gentle reminder to embrace life's joy and to cherish the bonds of love and friendship.
Ruth was welcomed into eternal peace by her parents and her beloved siblings, Robert Bak, Harland Bak, Alice Sylliaasen, Darlene Munter and Ella Bak.
