Sharon grew up in Luverne and graduated from Luverne High School in 1955. She attended college for a period of time and then worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Sharon met Leroy (Spud) Vockrodt as juniors in high school in August of 1953 at the Luverne Rock County Fair. Shortly after this meeting, their first date was to the local ice cream shop. They married on February 1, 1958. While Spud was serving in the Navy, their daughter, Angela, was born in Oakland, California. After Spud left the Navy, they made their home in Sioux Falls where their son Daniel was born. Sharon lived the remainder of her life in Sioux Falls.
Sharon and Spud spent many years enjoying time with family and friends at their cabin at Lake Madison. She also enjoyed playing bridge, going on walks, visiting friends and spending time with her family.
