Terrance W. Acers

Terrance “Terry” Acers, 68 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Visitation with family present will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, May 9, 2022 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Terry was born on November 30, 1953, the son of Arthur and Jeanne (Ash) Acers in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent his younger years in both Omaha, Nebraska, and Jefferson City, Missouri. On June 10, 1978, Terry married Rebecca “Becky” Leimbach at Mosher Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Omaha, Nebraska. There they were blessed with two daughters, Tamara “Tammy” and Kelsey. The family later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Terry worked in the packaging field and print shop for 32 years. He also worked as a manager in the manufacturing industry, until he retired in 2016.

One of Terry’s greatest pleasures in life was powerlifting. He won numerous titles and loved spending time in the gym, and various fitness centers. He was also a member of over 20 lifting clubs. Becky taught Terry to bowl, and they each enjoyed bowling with their leagues. Terry was a big Husker’s fan and loved to watch football, he also loved to mow the lawn.

Terry is survived by his wife, Becky Acers of Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Tammy Acers of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelsey Acers of Alexandria, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne; step-dad, Charles; and Aunt, Eleanor Gran.
