Theresa Janet (Hagert) Peltier, daughter of Michael and Madeline Hagert was born January 1, 1935, in Lamberton, Minnesota. She graduated from Chi Hi High School in Lindstrom/Center City. While in high school, her best friend set her up on a date with her brother, Merrill “Frenchy” Peltier. They shared a lifelong love of dancing and roller skating. Upon Frenchy’s honorable discharge from the Army they were united in marriage on October 5, 1955. They moved to Crystal, Minnesota and later Forest Lake where Frenchy built their home during the mid 1960’s. They were blessed with four children, Sharon, Charlotte, Larry, and Dale.
In 1973 they started Sioux Equipment in Sioux Falls and in 1974 the whole family followed. Theresa helped in the home raising the children and also helped with the bookkeeping for the new business. With their dedication to each other, faith, family, and their customers, they were able to grow the reputation of the successful business in the industry.
