Vicki Rae Meirose

 

Vicki Rae Meirose, age 70, of Sioux Falls, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Sanford Foundation Cottage, Sioux Falls, surrounded by her family. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Burial will be in the Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation with family present, will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. 

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.

Vicki R Murray was born October 22nd, 1955, in Sioux Falls, SD, to James and Carol (Timmerman) Murray. She attended Washington High School and graduated in 1973. 

Vicki met her future husband, Tim, while at summer school, where he told her he was going to marry her the first week they met to which she laughed at him. She got her bachelor’s in Psychology, Social Sciences and Sociology from USF in 1991.

On March 18th, 1974, she was united in marriage with Timothy Meirose at First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls. The couple moved to Forest City, IA where Tim worked for Winnebago Industries. They moved back to Sioux Falls in 1976 where they still reside. The couple had two sons Chris and Chad. Vicki worked for Independent Living Choices as a Independent Living Specialist for 25 years and retired in 2022.

Vicki was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She worked many events and benefits for the El Raid Shrine Sprint Car Unit with Tim. Over the years she volunteered for her sons Cub and Boy Scout groups, both of which achieved Eagle Scout.

Vicki enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening. She went on yearly trips with Tim to Branson, MO, Pella, IA, Mexico and motorcycle trips through out the United States and Canada. She especially enjoyed Cabo San Lucas where they vacationed the past two years. 

Vicki was a caregiver to all and always made sure her family had all that they needed. She had an infectious smile and laugh. All the holidays were special for Vicki especially St. Patricks day due to her Irish heritage. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spoiling her only grandson, Justice.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Tim; sons, Christopher (Kimberly) Meirose, Buffalo, MN, Chad (Samantha) Meirose, Hartford, SD; grandson, Justice Meirose, Buffalo, MN; father, James (Beverly) Murray; sisters Sharon (Steve) Goodroad and Cindy Rauschenberger, Loveland, CO; brothers Douglas (Gabriella) Murray, Jefferson, SD, David (Jackie) Murray, Crooks, SD, Randall Murray, Loveland, CO, and Robert (Jennifer) Murray, Spearfish, SD; a host of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her mother.
